Canadians Believe

A new report shows that the majority of Canadians believe in the existence of intelligence life elsewhere in the universe.

70% of Canadians polled feel that there is definitely or probably intelligent alien life elsewhere in our universe.

The sentiments were different among provinces. The percentage of people who felt that there was definately intelligent extraterrestrial life ranged from a low of 18% in Manitoba to 33% in British Columbia and 38% in Alberta (oddly enough, the location of AUFORA).

Questions asked included:

Is there intelligent life elsewhere in the universe?

Definitely: 38%
Probably: 42%
Probably Not: 16%
Definitely Not: 12%
Unsure: 2%

What is the likelihood that Earth has been visited by intelligent life from another planet?

Very likely: 22%
Somewhat likely: 33%
Somewhat unlikely: 19%
Very unlikely: 24%
Unsure: 1%

What is the likelihood that Earth will be visited by extraterrestrials in your lifetime?

Very likely: 14%
Somewhat likely: 29%
Somewhat unlikely: 21%
Very unlikely: 35%
