David Koresh's Earthly Remains David Koresh, leader of the Branch Davidian sect in Waco, Texas, died on April 19, 1993 along with nearly eighty of his followers. FLIR footage of the final standoff with the FBI, along with other photographic evidence and testimony, strongly suggests that the fire which consumed Mt. Carmel was a direct result of the FBI assault, whether intentional or incidental.
