The following photographs were taken at the "Crack the CIA" protest rally
in Los Angeles on Saturday, February 22, 1996.

Stop the Lies
A number of protestors created large artistic displays to voice their dissent. This "moving mural" was among the most striking.

"King" Bush Exposed
George Bush's ties to cocaine dealing were a popular topic among those attending the rally.

Taking it to City Hall
Picturesque Los Angeles City Hall served as an imposing backdrop to the anti-CIA rally.

Crack It Wide Open
Protestors gather in front of City Hall to voice their dissent and demand justice.

Bike Patrol
Scores of police were on hand to "manage" a peaceful gathering of non-violent protestors.

Granny Don't Play That
People of all ages and backgrounds showed up to "Crack the CIA."

Dope Man
"Dope Man" wandered the City Hall grounds attempting to secure a buyer for his CIA-procured "cocaine."

Skim Media
"The media is like skim milk: pasteurized, homogenized & 99% fact-free!" Of course, Gary Webb and the San Jose Mercury News represent part of the other one percent.

Free Geronimo
Supporters of jailed ex-Black Panther leader Geronimo Pratt were out in force at the anti-CIA rally.

Marked for Death
Supporters of journalist Mumia Abu Jamal, who is currently awaiting his execution on death row, spread the word about his plight at the rally.

Down With the Fed
A number of other topics were fair game for protest, including jabs at the Federal Reserve and IRS.

Honk If You Hate the IRS
This protestor spawned an endless stream of honks from passing motorists who shared his sentiment.
