The CIA Director faced
a no-holds-barred
information assault by
South Central residents.

South Central
Intelligence Agency

CIA Director John Deutch recently found out first hand how angry residents of South Central Los Angeles are about allegations of Central Intelligence Agency involvement in drug smuggling. "Freeway" Ricky Ross sold thousands of kilos of cocaine supplied by Contra supporter Oscar Danilo Blandon, unhindered by the watchful eye of the CIA. In an unprecedented move, Deutch answered, in person, questions from those most directly affected by the crack plague.

Flanked by police and a CIA protective force, Deutch faced a direct interrogation -- no media filters, no redaction. He answered (and dodged) scathing questions that no Director of Central Intelligence has ever faced in a direct inquiry by American citizens.
